You can make a difference in our community by supporting excellence in public education at ATC. While charitable donations are greatly appreciated, you can also support the school by volunteering your time, services, and material goods. You're support is an investment in the future which will pay remarkable dividends.
Every little bit helps! Take a look to see how you can help!
For School Year 2020/2021 -
Please consider donating to Ms. Biscamp's Sophomore pre-AP Language Arts class!
Using the book "If Beale Street Could Talk" by James Baldwin, students will examine the real-world implications of texts, including how they connect with them personally, how they thread together in a historical narrative, and how they inform our humanity in the face of modern-day struggles. These students will embark on a yearlong project to explore both the experiences that have shaped them personally and the systems that shape people's lives nationally and globally.
Ms. Biscamp has set up a Donors Choose project titled Exploring the Wealth of Voices Shouting and Singing in America, please help her obtain a grade level set of the book "If Beale Street Could Talk" by James Baldwin.
Please consider donating to Mrs. Sharma's different classrooms with a gift that fosters learning!
While most of the students are working on Code.org or Osmo. I can work with different groups of 3-5 students each week on a Robotics project. This way, I can work closely with these students who have had no prior experience in Robotics. The robotics kits can be dismantled and reused several times. Osmo, an iPad accessory, encourages students to use multiple intelligences simultaneously - spatial, interpersonal, and motor skills. Osmo curriculum offers 60 lesson plans catered for use in schools. Students will work on a variety of STEM lessons, including coding, tangrams, fractions, money, spelling, critical thinking, problem solving, music, and art. Together, the Robotics projects, and the Osmo systems will provide my students with a well rounded STEM experience and prepare them to be future scientists, engineers, and programmers.
Mrs. Sharma has set up a Donors Choose page: https://www.donorschoose.org/classroom/mrs-sharma with several different projects. Please consider helping her foster learning in her digital classroom!
Donate: Make a Tax-Deductible Contribution
As a public charter school, ATC receives operational funding from the state of New Mexico. Unfortunately, funding levels have dropped dramatically in recent years, creating significant obstacles to maintaining a high quality learning environment for our students. You can help by making a recurring or one-time tax-deductible contribution to ATC.
Wish List: Donate New and Used Items
Even if the school could afford to purchase every item it needed, there's virtue in re-use and hand-me-downs. Maybe you have a new or gently used item that we could use in the classroom or around the school. We're always looking for material donations of books, office supplies, computers, gardening supplies, and building materials.
