A Letter From Our New Athletic Director, Tim Host

2012-2013 School Year

Dear ATC Students and Parents,

My name is Tim Host, and I will be the head cross country and track and field coach for the upcoming year. In the past I was honored with New Mexico Cross Country Coach of the Year honors 4 times and was named Navajo Times Coach of the Year twice.

My experience includes coaching numerous state cross country teams and individual state championships at both 2A and 5A level.  In track and field I coached all-state athletes (top 6) in the 100 meter, 110 hurdles, 800 meter, 1600 meter, 3200 meter, high jump, javelin, pole vault, shot put, discus, and every relay. In addition, I've coached many athletes who struggled to break 30 minutes in cross country, but became life-long runners. My goal is to best coach every athlete to the best of his/her ability.

I don't accept excuses, and I fully believe in the power of every human being to set goals, work hard to achieve those goals, and then work harder and smarter to achieve even loftier new goals. Thanks for welcoming me to ATC, and I hope that we have the largest and best team in school history this fall and next spring! Also, you can check me out in a couple of documentarties that are currently out, "Up Heartbreak Hill" and Run to the East." "Run to the East," has a trailer on their website, and I can acquire a copy to show at the school sometime. "Up Heartbreak Hill" will be showing on PBS this summer and a trailer can be found if you are a good googler:)

Keep Hope Alive,

Tim Host
