Designs from Two ATC Students Chosen for 2015 Zozobra T-shirts!

Two ATC students, 10th grader Isabel Rodriguez (Pictured Left) and 9th grader Ashley Barrows (Pictured Right), had their designs chosen for this year’s Zozobra t-shirts.  Isabel’s design was chosen for the 2015 youth T-shirt, and Ashley’s was chosen for the official Kiwanis club t-shirt.  The contest for Zozobra-themed designs was launched by the Kiwanis Club last spring, and the theme was 1920s art.  Both students were in Ms. Cermanski’s art class, in which she encouraged students to participate in the contest by making it a class project.  She taught students about two art styles of the 1920s: Regionalism, which was a movement that focused on scenes of rural life and characteristically had curvy, flowing, and colorful lines, and Art Deco, which is a very precise and clean art style with geometric shapes and straight lines.  Isabel’s design reflects Art Deco style, while Ashley’s reflects Regionalism.  Everyone at ATC is proud of Isabel and Ashley and can’t wait to see the t-shirts!
