Film as Lit

Course examines culturally relevant movies and analyzes them as literature. 

Advanced English/Language Arts ELD

This course aligns with the New Mexico Content Standards, Benchmarks and Performance Standards for English Language Arts and with the New Mexico English Language Development Instructional Strategies as appropriate. Teachers must have received specialized training in serving the needs of English Language Learners.  

Intermediate English as a Second Language (ESL)

Intermediate English as a Second Language (ESL) as part of a Bilingual Education Program: Course is designed for the rapid mastery of the English language, focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.

Beginning English as a Second Language (ESL)

This course satisfies NCLB, Title III English Language Acquisition and Office of Civil Rights requirements for English Language Learner students. Not part of a Bilingual Education Program.

AP English Literature and Composition

According to the College Board, this course is "designed to engage students in the careful reading and critical analysis of imaginative literature. Through the close reading of selected texts, students can deepen their understanding of the ways writers use language to provide both meaning and pleasure for their readers.

English/Language Arts IV

Course blends composition and literature into a cohesive whole, as students write critical and comparative analyses of selected literature. Typically, multi paragraph essays predominate as the form of student composition, but one or more major research papers may also be written.
