Students learn and perform traditional and contemporary Marimba compositions with an emphasis on the music of Zimbabwe. Through learning to play as an ensemble, students learn about rhythm, listening, group dynamics, improvisation, and basic music theory while learning about the music of other cultures. No musical experience is required. Players of drums, guitar, bass, and horns are encouraged to join the class, as we will create additional parts for these instruments wherever possible.
